I have been working with Excel Tutoring for over 6 months now, and this has proven to be a great experience thus far. I have been able to gain experience and advance myself at both professional and personal levels, utilizing knowledge gained from my university courses to help students in need. It is quite satisfactory and, at the same time, motivating when my students succeed in their academics. The Excel managers have always been very helpful and kind. They have provided me with plenty of resources and critical guidance, which has helped me become better at my job.

It was tough to take full time courses at the university level and earn enough money to support myself at the same time, until I saw Excel Tutoring’s ad for tutor recruitment on Indeed. One thing I truly like about working at Excel is the ability to make my own schedule and work only as much as I can. The managing team is very flexible and understanding. The job as a tutor at Excel has helped me thrive in my own studies while making enough to support my expenses.

When I graduated from a biochem program last year, there were no jobs and it was becoming harder for me to stay home doing nothing. After 3-4 months of job searching (and failing) in my field, I joined Excel Tutoring as a part-time tutor for biology and chemistry. The staff is very friendly and supportive. Hours are very flexible and I am free to let them know what area I am most comfortable working in. Starting this year, I found a full-time job, but I have decided to continue working with Excel on part-time basis.

As a PhD candidate at University of Toronto, I have had many opportunities TA-ing undergraduate courses. This Teaching Associate experience triggered my inner wish to become a teacher. I started looking for jobs where I could apply my knowledge to educate students in need and do so without affecting my PhD studies. I came across many tutoring companies, but Excel stood out to me the most since they offered flexible working hours along with students close to my home. I was able to do my studies in the day time and during the evenings; I was able to help high school students in math and physics. This was a good source of part-time income and a chance to work with the highly professional individuals at Excel. The only reason I left Excel is that I had to move to Alberta.
